Hello clubs and entity teams,
Hope this email finds you all safe and well.
We just wanted to send out an update on some things going on with the Association and the greater netball community, with quite a few things happening that could be of interest to you and your members.
2021 Registrations
We’re all starting to look ahead to 2021 and I know some keen clubs are already looking to open up registrations! We have to wait for Netball Victoria to open up 2021 in MyNetball so then we can quickly create our season and products we need and then we can advise you that it’s all ready to go. Netball Victoria have said that they will be doing that soon – they are just finishing off all of the membership reimbursements processing. As soon as it’s ready to go, we will let you all know and will then look at opening up team registrations for 2021 too. For single entity teams, keep your eyes peeled for the 2021 entry information!
Members Survey
As an Association, we are always looking out for our members and also for ways we can continue to grow and improve as we move forward.
Very soon, a survey will be sent to all of our members through MyNetball and we hope that you can all take the time to have a look at it
so we can get some great responses to help us shape our future.
Returning to training
A small amount of teams have expressed interested in going down to the Duncan Mackinnon courts to do a few training sessions this year. There is no issue with that at all but we need to make sure that it’s done the right way, as CDNA don’t have the court bookings for 2020 anymore and the Council have made their stance known……
Netball Victoria Leadership and Game Development Conference
Netball Victoria are holding a great online conference that has streams for umpires, coaches and for affiliate development. It is from the 16-20 November.

Grants
There are always grants out there for clubs and single teams to look at applying for, whether it be to help with equipment or uniforms or helping your members. We look forward to hearing more about the Government’s newly announced initiative of $200 vouchers to help members pay fees etc, but that is earmarked for next year, so we will update you as soon as we know more. In the meantime, here are two grants that are easy to apply for and are relevant for all clubs and entity teams too.
Online learning
There are some really great free online courses that are available through the MyNetball elearning portal that every member has access to. Some courses are very relevant to Committees and help to understand important topics even more. You even get a certficate of completion! Just log into your MyNetball account, go to “Learning” and “Online Learning”, then “Browse Available Courses”, and you will see the full catalogue available to you.
Club Training in 2021
Given the new protocols that present themselves in line with COVID guidelines, it raises the subject about club training sessions at the Duncan MacKinnon courts. We wanted to float an alternative idea with all of those teams who do train there, to gauge your thoughts about it. Do you think your members would maybe be interested in (and able to) having all club teams training on designated nights instead of at randomly different times and nights? For example, two clubs training solely on Monday nights, others all on Tuesdays etc etc. This thought was considering saving the angst of trying to fit people into popular time slots, making club’s lives easier and also assisting COVID guidelines such as contact tracing and social distancing etc. We would really love to know what you think about this!
Rep Trials
Just a reminder that Rep trials are starting next week. We’ve extended registration until the 7th November, so please feel free to remind your members as well. The trial flyer is below.
