Coaching Programme & Resources

Coaching Programme

St Anthony's has a pathway programme for our older players to get involved in coaching the younger teams.

We also encourage our players to get involved in the Umpire Pathway. CDNA have advised that they have cleared their waiting list of players interested in becoming umpires when they ran their Umpire Trials. They will be running this with independent selectors again later in 2023. We are looking at running an Umpire Training Session for those that are interested. Please register your interest by clicking on the button on the right for Umpiring and on the left for becoming a coach.

To assist our players developing their coaching skills we will reimburse the cost of the Netball Victoria Foundations and other development coaching courses. We will provide opportunities for mentorship where available and support players and parents who are interested in becoming a coach.

Additionally, St Anthony's policy is to pay the VNA for all of our coaches (and committee & team managers) as well as to pay for or reimburse any costs involved in acquiring netball coaching qualifications or skills.

From Spring 2022 our player coaches will be paid from the club bank account using the three levels outlined in our Coaching Policy

REGISTERING FOR VNA:-

Coaches need to register via Netball Connect as either a Senior Official - Coach or Junior Official Coach
Where you are playing as well as coaching, register as a coach first, complete the transaction then Add further registration for the Playing role so that the VNA is deducted from the Player transaction. Information on registering is on the Registrations page - Authorised Club coaches to use the Discount Code COACH to ensure that the club pays the VNA for you.

FOUNDATIONS ONLINE COACHING COURSE:-

Please note that it is a requirement that all coaches have completed the Foundations level coaching course. Click here for instructions on enrolling in this course (short version = learning.netball.com.au  Online Learning, then click blue 'Browse Available Courses' button - type 'Foundation Online Coach' in the 'browse catalogue' box).

As you can only register for this course via Netball Learning, the club can't pay for this course upfront, but we will reimburse the cost immediately (just download the receipt and send it to the Treasurer.

We will also reimburse the costs associated with coaching development courses provided by Netball Victoria or other providers. Please email secretary@stanthonysnetball.org.au prior to enrolling if using another provider other than Netball Victoria for fees to be approved.
